The Lower Polk Community Benefit District monitors the JCDecaux public restroom located at Sgt. John MaCaulay Park. Not only do we monitor this public bathroom for cleanliness and safety, we also maintain a rest station that offers refreshments and resource materials for jobs, housing, medical care, and other community needs.
The implementation of the staffed JCDecaux bathroom has caused a large drop in human waste and improperly disposed of needles in the neighborhood.
“I wanted to share some positive feedback. I met Hanif at the Sgt. Macaulay Park last week. He was engaging with community members and keeping the area around the park clean and free of fallen leaves. It was apparent that he has a heart for the people and spaces of the Lower Polk community. Thank you for making SF feel safer and look cleaner!“
